It happened people. It's happening. Oh my goodness it's happening.
And if you don't think your prayers have mattered, well you're out of your ever lovin mind.
So I've rearranged the living room and I've organized toys and the garage. I put the call out for friends who had already offered help and stuff for our boys--to let them know what we need--and ya'll something like 40 people responded. I seriously was thinking maybe like 10 people--who had already volunteered to help--would step up, but I was literally worshiped God after so many people responded with "We've got clothes!", "We'll send gift cards," "We've got books!"
Over.Whelmed. Jesus is so good. His Body is totally surrounding us in this and I am absolutely amazed. Just yesterday I got an encouraging word from a friend that God was setting everything up so that we would be able to care for these children. And then I got two cards in the mail from friends who wanted to bless us. And then another friend at church sent me home with a trunk load of clothes and toys.
Why would we ever doubt His provision? It is so clear in His word that Jehovah Jireh is His Name and that's is who He is: Provider.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your lifee ?
28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:25-34)
So thank you. Thank you to each of you who read my little blog and prayed. Thank you to all of you who have felt moved to bless these sweet boys who have certainly had a rough few years. Thank you. Know that our family praises God for each of you and pray that He would return it to you ten-fold. You are a gift!
More to come soon...
